Antique Art Deco 8.0 Carat Diamond Openwork Clip.
Will look magnificent on a black breast pocket.
A fabulous piece of antique jewellery. Hand manufactured in 18ct white gold and has a mixture of old European cut diamonds and transitional cut diamonds which epitomises the very best in art deco design.
The largest diamonds are positioned in the centre and edges of the brooch (31 in total), the larger diamonds are also surrounded by a 85 diamonds arranged in a curved trapezium shape with a floral design at the bottom.
The reverse of the the clip has a heart openwork design.
The brooch has a total of 116 diamonds.
The diamonds are well matched, clean, white and bright.
Under magnification it shows the hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character.
Diamonds vary in size, largest measures 4.3mm in diameter and smallest measures 2.0mm in diameter.
Estimated total diamond weight is minimum of 8.0 carats. We have been very conservative in our estimate.
Overall dimensions are 52.3 x 47.4mm and 14.1mm.
Weight 33.1g.
Test 18ct white gold.
Dates from the Art deco period, circa 1920.
Beautiful piece of estate jewellery, will look stunning against a blouse, tie or cravat.
No heir to inherit, now means it must find a new home, being offered for the first time in generations.
Will quickly become a family heirloom and `go to` piece, this stunning brooch now on the market after being in private hands for decades, and looking for a new `forever home`
