Antique Art Deco Sapphire and Diamond 18ct Gold and Platinum Articulated Bracelet
Original ones in this condition are rarely available, the forerunner of the modern tennis/line bracelet.
Dates from the late Edwardian period into Art Deco period. 1910 - 1925
Manufactured in 18ct gold and platinum. The sides of the bracelet are manufactured in 18ct gold whilst the head of the bracelet and the top of the links are manufactured in platinum.
This beautiful bracelet has 6 transitional cut diamonds in the centre with 5 sapphires either side of the diamonds.
The border of the gemstones is `millgrain set` (From the French word mille for a thousand, and from grain as the same meaning in English, it refers to what appears to be thousands of tiny beads upon a metal precipice or edge).
There is also a hand engraved design to the edges of the bracelet.
They are fine white and clean diamonds, and the sapphires are a lovely cornflower blue - its truly a lovely antique gem.
Original fitted case
Presented in excellent condition and has been treasured and shows very little signs of wear.
Beautifully manufactured, hand soldered articulated sections, all in perfect condition.
Truly a lovely quality antique bracelet.
Very few left like this is this condition.
Diamond measures 2.9mm in diameter. Combined estimated carat weight of 0.60 carats.
Sapphires measure 3.4mm in diameter. Combined estimated carat weight of 1.7 carats.
6.69 inches or 17cm in length and expands to 7 inches or 18cm in length.
The top is approximately 3.9mm wide, tapering to 2.6mm.
Total weight is 8.5g.
Engraved '18ct' and tests platinum. Also engraved 'English Made'.
CONDITION: Overall excellent, with some very light wear commensurate with age.
This is a pre-loved antique item in excellent condition, making it excellent value for your money compared to a new equivalent.
