Antique Art Nouveau Sapphire and Diamond 18ct Gold 'Toi et Moi' Crossover Ring

Beautiful Antique Sapphire and Diamond 18ct Gold and Platinum Crossover Ring.

This nicely made ring dates from the Edwardian era, Circa 1900 - 1910.
This style of ring is often called “Toi et Moi” meaning 'you and me' as it represents the union of two people because of the use of the two diamonds in the centre, so it would make a perfect engagement ring. 

Crossover rings were very popular in the early 1900s as they reflected the soft-flowing style of the Art Nouveau period.  
Manufactured in 18ct gold, unusually the diamond setting is in platinum. 
This pretty ring is composed of a sapphire and an old European cut diamond arranged in a crossover style, the design still has an Art Nouveau feel about it. It would make a very pretty engagement ring. 
The gemstones are bezel set and the design is lovely as the gold work follows between the two stones joining them together in a special way. 

The diamond is eye-clean, white, and bright; whilst the sapphire is a lovely rich blue with flashes of a lighter blue.

Sapphire measures 3.6mm in diameter. 
The diamond measures 3.6mm in diameter. 

The head of the ring measures approx. 8.1mm in width tapering to a 1.8mm wide shank.
Weight 2.6g. 

Stamped '18ct & PLAT'. 

The ring size is currently L (UK Scale) or 5 1/2 (US Size) but can be modified free of charge in our own comprehensive workshops.

Overall a highly collectable and wearable piece of genuine antique jewellery.

CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age.
This antique item is excellent value for your money compared to a new equivalent. 
The settings are in good condition and can be worn every day (with respect). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
