Antique Edwardian 18ct Gold Lover’s Knot Ring

This nicely made ring was manufactured during the late Edwardian era, dated 1916.

Manufactured in 18ct yellow gold; the head of the ring has a rope lover's knot design in the centre with openwork on either side, a tapered bead design on the shoulders and a ribbed shank.

Simple, beautiful understated design.

Knot rings were commitment rings in the early 1900s meaning that “you are tied to me”/ “To tie the knot” so it represents everlasting love and sometimes merely as a token of affection.

The head of the ring measures approx. 8.0mm (width) tapering to a 2.6mm shank, and 2.8mm depth.
Weight 3.7g.

UK hallmarked 18ct gold Birmingham 1916. Sponsors mark 'C Y Bs'.

The ring size is currently O (UK Scale) or 7 US Size) but can be modified free of charge in our comprehensive workshops.
