Truly Excellent Example of a Sought After Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Long Guard Chain. English Circa 1920.
Remarkable survivor dating from the late Edwardian period, Circa 1920/30. Full length in excellent order, no signs of alteration or repair, and the links are still tight.
Very useful and wearable antique chain manufactured in 9ct rose gold, it has attractive oval belcher links; and has the original bolt ring (the spring is strong). Also, the centre of the chain has a jump ring allowing the chain to be shortened and be composed of 2 belcher chains.
Presented in truly excellent original condition, traces of the original gilding still there between the links.
A highly useful article of antique jewellery that can be worn on its own, or take a locket or pendant, fob or seal and can be wrapped around the neck twice.
The chain measures 66 inches in length. Equivalent to 167.6cm The links are 3.5mm wide. Chain weighs 22.9g.
