Antique Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Silver and Gold Floral Drop Earrings

Beautiful & Rare Antique Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Silver and Gold Floral Drop Earrings.

A delightful and rare pair of antique Georgian gold and silver floral drop earrings dating from the mid-Georgian period, circa 1820 /1830. So many have been damaged, or one lost and the other turned into a pendant, to have a genuine antique pair that survived almost 2 centuries is rare.

The earrings are manufactured in gold with silver settings, the rose-cut diamonds are set within silver pinched collect settings; and are a flower and petal design. 
Each earring has been set with a rose-cut diamond at the top and 2 smaller pear-shaped rose-cut diamonds mounted within the drop below. 
They are silver fronted with gold wash on the reverse and gold ear wires. They are so pretty and very wearable; additionally when worn they articulate beautifully. 

Studying under magnification shows handcrafting and hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast in one piece, having little `definition` left after the casting process.

These are a superbly handmade pair of antique earrings.

Rose-cut diamonds measure approx. 4.5mm in diameter. 
Pear cut diamond measures 4.0mm x 2.0mm.

Overall measurement of 22.3mm x 10.0mm and 5.6mm in depth.

Combined weight 5.5g. They are a well made genuine antique pair.

Unmarked, tests gold and silver. 

CONDITION: Overall good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.
