Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Anchor and Rope / Naval Motif Ring

This fabulous antique naval ring dates from the late Victorian era; circa 1900.
It is manufactured in 18ct gold and is beautifully modelled with an anchor and chain in the centre and rope detail around the centre motif and to the shoulders. 
Victorian  jewellery is full of secret meanings and this 18ct gold anchor ring is no exception, it sends a message to the recipient that “You are anchored to me”, and for Christians the anchor symbolises Hope, Stability, Steadfastness, guidance and Strength, so it is a lovely meaning. 

Close study shows all the ropework is hand made and applied, not cast, its a miniature work of art.

Weight is a quality 7.4g.

The head of the ring measures 11.5mm and tapers to an 2.9mm shank, and measures 4.2mm in depth.

Stamped '18ct'.

The ring is currently size V (UK Scale) or 10 5/8 (US Size) but can be modified free of charge in our own comprehensive workshops.

Overall a highly collectable and wearable piece of antique jewellery.

CONDITION: Overall good, with some light wear commensurate with age.
This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent. 
The settings are in perfect condition and can be worn every day (with respect!). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
