Mint condition, any marks are reflections from photography. (The edges are polished and the images on the bust look like they are marked - but are just reflections.

A good quality antique mourning locket manufactured in 18ct yellow gold. This stylish locket was made circa 1860-1890 when mourning jewellery was very much in fashion as Queen Victoria set the scene when Prince Albert died.
The pendant is composed of a carved oval piece of onyx, the front has the initial 'M' and is set with natural seed pearls (35 in total), whilst the reverse has a 18ct gold glazed locket compartment. 
Pendant has attractive ribbed pendant bale. 
Contains the original pretty hand painted miniature of a young child currently, but you can remove for your own if wished.

Pearls vary in size, largest measures 2.4mm in diameter and the smallest measures 1.00mm in diameter. 

Pendant measures 46.3mm x 31.4mm (not including bale) and 10.1mm in depth.
Bale measures 13.4mm x 7.1mm.

Weight 19.0g.

Unmarked, tests 18ct gold.

Continental, Circa 1860-1880. 

CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.

This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
