Genuine Antique pair dating from the Victorian period, circa 1880-1890, so rare to find today.
Fine quality, each handmade in sterling silver. Each earrings has an engraved oval drop suspended from the Shepherds crooks which are also manufactured in sterling silver. The front of the drops are beautifully decorated, and a rope design around the edge and beadwork.
Studying under magnification shows handcrafting and hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast in one piece, having little `definition` left after the casting process.
Drops measure 21.7mm x 14.4mm and 6.4mm in depth. Overall measurement of approx. 40.0mm x 14.4mm and 6.4mm in depth.
