Vintage 9ct Rose Gold and Silver Sword Jabot Pin. Circa 1920

A unique and interesting jewel.

A jabot pin is a type of brooch that features a jewelled motif at either end, designed to be worn in such a way that only the decorative ends are visible, allowing the fabric to show in between. It was originally used to secure a jabot, a ruffled lace or fabric piece worn on the front of men's shirts in the 18th century, and gained popularity as a versatile form of jewellery in the 1920s and 1930s.

The pin is a sword, with a silver and rose gold hand guard.

The hand guard is decorated with beautiful scrollwork.

The grip is handmade from wire; it's worth really studying the photos to see the craftsmanship.

This is handmade, and the piece needs to be studied to appreciate its design.

A lovely piece for any collector.

The blade clicks nicely into the sheath and also features a safety chain.
