Antique 15ct Gold Seal Engraved Fob. 'Refulgent in Tenebris' (They Shine In The Dark).

A very collectable seal/fob, originally would have hung on the end of a gentleman's watch chain, now highly collectable in their own right.

English, circa 1850.

This example standing 23mm high is set with a reverse-engraved citrine which is engraved in Latin -  `Refulgent in Tenebris`, which translates `they shine in the dark`.

A little bit of `nibbling` to the citrine, but still perfectly readable, 

Weight 7.8g

Unmarked, tests 15ct (Gold standard from the period)
