Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold and Enamel Flying Duck Bar Brooch Birmingham 1923

A fabulous piece of antique jewellery, manufactured in both 9ct gold and platinum. The brooch is handmade and depicts a flying duck with a yellow gold body, and rose gold detailing on the wings and a platinum body. The head is enamelled in red, green and yellow.
The bar brooch is manufactured in 15ct gold. 
The pheasant is beautifully engraved/chased for added definition. 

These handmade miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast in one piece, having little `definition` left after the casting process.
