Antique 9ct Gold Diamond Set Back & Front Locket.
Dates from the Late Victorian / Early Edwardian period.
The front and back of the locket has an attractive scalloped motif around the edge, there is also a star set rose cut diamond on the front of the locket.
Crafted in 9ct gold back and front, the term “9ct Back & Front” refers to the fact the inner rims and frames are base metal but the outer two sides are 9ct gold.
Inside, the original frames intact , so it will hold photographs.
Hinge is good, top rings are good, a remarkable survivor in this condition, Just a small `pin prick` dent on the reverse.
Diamond measures approx. 1.7mm x 1.5mm.
Measurements are 32.4mm x 24.9mm (not including bale) and 5.0m in depth.
Bale measures 2.9mm in length.
The locket weighs 8.1g.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.
This is a antique item dating from the Victorian period, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
