Antique Art Nouveau Amethyst and Natural Seed Pearl 15ct Gold Articulated Fringe Necklace.
Very collectable and rare, beautiful and highly wearable. Totally original - never altered or repaired.
This beautiful antique jewel is designed in the art nouveau style which was fashionable during the late 1900s / early 20th Century.
Manufactured in 15ct gold, the necklace is mounted with 12 natural pearls and has 8 oval amethysts suspended; the necklace is arranged in the art nouveau `festoon` style.
Under magnification it shows the hand soldering and manufacture; these miniature works of art need to be studied and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character.
The amethysts vary in size, the largest measures 9.2mm x 7.0mm and smallest measures 6.6mm x 5.00mm.
The natural pearls vary in size, largest measures 4.2mm in diameter and smallest measures 2.4mm in diameter.
The chain measures 15.75 inches in length. Equivalent to 45.08cm.
Chain links are 1.1mm in diameter.
Weight 11.0g.
Tests 15ct gold.
Necklace dates from the art nouveau period, circa 1900.
CONDITION: Overall very good, seems like the necklace has spent its life in its box and never been worn as the claws are still sharp. The original gilding and `bloom` intact.
This is a antique item. It is in very good condition making it excellent value for money when compared to a new equivalent.
