Antique Diamond 9ct Gold Pendant with Chain, Circa 1915 - 1925.
Particularly good one, the pendant is manufactured in 9ct rose gold and has a 4 old European cut diamonds in total. there is a diamond in the centre of the pendant and a further 3 diamonds articulated below. They move and catch the light beautifully.
The diamonds are set to rub over settings.
Diamonds are clean, white and bright.
We see a few with semi precious coloured stones, very few diamond examples are offered for sale.
Its a very well made example, hand wired and soldered, not to be confused with the cheaper `stamped out` versions that were made.
Its a rarity to have survived, all intact with its original fittings and in this condition.
These works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character.
Diamonds measure approx. 2.5mm in diameter.
Combined carat weight of approx. 0.32 carats.
Pendant measures 44.7mm x 14.2mm.
The chain measures 16 inches in length. Equivalent to 40.6cm.
Stamped 9ct.
Weight 2.8g
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.
The settings are in good condition and can be worn every day (with respect!). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
