Antique Edwardian 15ct Gold Natural Split Pearl Floral Brooch.
Lovely fine goldsmiths work in the warm colour you only get with 15ct.
A lovely genuine piece of antique jewellery, the floral spray brooch depicts a flowers petals and leaves, it is set with natural pearls (52 in total) across the brooch.
The brooch has a highly decorated finish and hand applied 15ct gold wire work which is set with natural split pearls.
15ct gold was only a legal standard of gold in British jewellery between 1854 and 1931. This means that any piece of 15ct antique gold jewellery from Britain dates somewhere between 1854 and 1931 and you have a genuine piece of antique or vintage jewellery.
Under magnification it shows the hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character.
A modern one would be cast in one piece, having little `definition` left after the casting process. Every piece of decoration on this brooch was made separately and soldered on by hand, its a skill not replicated today.
Pearls vary in size, largest measures 3.5mm in diameter and smallest measures 1.6mm in diameter.
Brooch measures 59.2mm x 17.7mm and 4.9mm in depth.
Weight 8.7g.

Beautiful piece of estate jewellery, will look stunning against a blouse, tie or cravat.
Condition is very good, original pin, no repairs, the back is as beautifully made as the front, maybe some very light rubbing to the raised wirework beads on the front.
This is a antique item making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
The settings are in good condition and can be worn every day (with respect!).
