Excellent Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Albert Watch Chain with T-Bar.
Genuine antique one in good condition, good length, 15.75 inches,(Equivalent to 40.0cm)
It is termed as an “Albert” chain after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, who popularised the wearing of chains across the waistcoat with seals and a watch attached to the dog clip terminal.
Weighs 44.6g; a very solid albert, that uses an excellent gauge of gold.
Each and every link hallmarked `9 .375` for 9ct gold. Dated London 1919.
T-bar hallmarked `9 .375 and the sponsors mark 'JES'.
Swivel and bolt ring match, hallmarked `9 .375`, springs in both are good.
No sign of any repairs.
We have only ultrasonically cleaned it, not polished it, so that it retains its patina.
Genuine one dating from the late Edwardian period; dated 1919.
They really aren't out there in this tidy condition any more.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.
This is a antique item making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
The links are in good condition and can be worn every day (with respect!). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
