Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Buckle Ring with Hearts Motif, That Really Has Survived in Superb Condition.
This lovely buckle ring is manufactured in two tone 9ct gold, the centre is yellow gold whilst the motif and buckle is rose gold. It dates from the late Edwardian era, and was made in Birmingham 1912. It has an engraved heart and rose design around the shank, roses in jewellery represent “True love”. The engraving is still crisp, it looks like the ring has never been worn.
It would have originally been given as a commitment ring as the literal meaning is “You are bound to me”. It signifies fidelity in love and loyalty in friendship, so what a wonderful ring to give to someone that you love.
Head of ring measures 12.9mm tapering to 7.6mm shank, and 3.6mm in depth.
Ring weighs 4.5g.
UK hallmarked 9ct gold. Dated Birmingham 1912.Sponsors mark 'K SP'.
The ring size is currently R 1/2 (UK Scale) or 8 7/8 (US Size). Unfortunately, due to the undisturbed original engraving around the shank the ring cannot be resized. We would prefer not to alter it - hopefully it will go to a collector, there cant be another unworn example outside a collection or museum.
Overall a highly collectable and wearable piece of genuine antique jewellery, a timeless style which will never go out of fashion, a quality item that will last a lifetime.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age.
This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
The settings are perfect condition and can be worn every day (with respect). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
