An Excellent Antique 9ct Rose Gold Graduated Curb Link Albert Watch Chain with T-Bar.
A genuine antique example in rose gold in excellent condition.
With its original dog clips, and T-Bar; it is a good heavy gauge, and is marked on every link 9.375 for 9ct gold.
All marks matching and original.
Hallmarked 9ct Gold Chester 1911. Each link stamped '9 .375'
Length 15 1/2 inches 39.3cm, there is also a short piece of chain(originally to hang a seal from) in the middle measuring 3/4 of an inch, that could be added to the overall length if needed.
This style is called `graduated curb link` it is wider in the centre than at the ends, it graduates from 7.5mm in the centre to 5.6mm at the ends.
It is termed as an “Albert” chain after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, who popularised the wearing of chains across the waistcoat with seals and a watch attached to the dog clip terminal.
Weighs 48.6g; a very solid albert, that uses an excellent gauge of gold.
