Excellent Example of a Sought After Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Curb Link Pendant Chain.
Will take a good-sized locket/fob/pendant, or be worn on its own. Remarkable survivor, a good useful length in excellent order, links are still tight.
A very useful and wearable antique pendant chain manufactured in 9ct gold, it has an attractive curb link design and also has the original bolt ring. It makes a statement when worn on its own but can also be worn with a pendant or locket.
It's a rarity to have survived, under magnification it shows the handcrafting and hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast, having little `definition` left after the casting process and no character.
Shows little signs of wear, and it is in remarkable condition considering its age (it's 100-plus years old!), but it is still perfectly wearable.
The chain measures 19.5 inches in length. Equivalent to 49.5cm The links are 2.4mm in width.
Weight 7.5g.
The chain has a pretty '9ct' tag soldered to it too!
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age.
This is a pre-loved antique item, making it an excellent value for your money compared to a new equivalent. It has been gently cleaned in our workshop, but not machine polished, so retains its patina.
