Antique Edwardian Star Set Diamond and Ruby 9ct Gold Etruscan Revival Bangle

Beautiful Antique Edwardian Star Set Diamond and Ruby 9ct Gold Etruscan Revival Bangle Presented in Very Good Order.

Good example weighing 14.4g, this lovely Edwardian jewel is manufactured in 9ct gold and is set with an old European cut diamond in the centre and a large round cut ruby on either side; all stones are star set in the head of the bangle.
Etruscan-inspired detail has been applied by hand and features rope work, beads, and a scroll motif. 
It has survived in very good condition and has a tongue and box clasp with a safety chain attached. 

The gold work is called “Etruscan style” after the ancient Etruscan jewellery where the gold wire was hand applied in great detail. In the 1860s there was a movement called the Etruscan Revival as many finds from the Etruscan period were being unearthed in Italy. Jewellers such as Castellani embraced the challenge of recreating the art and pieces were painstakingly made with hand-applied gold wire work. 

Beautifully manufactured, hand soldered, all in good wearable condition. (with respect!)
Truly a lovely quality antique bangle that has traces of the original gilded finish remaining, its been treasured and shows very few signs of wear. 

The diamond measures 2.6mm in diameter.
Rubies measure 3.8mm in diameter.

Internal dimensions 62.3mm x 51.4mm (it is hinged, so will fit most wrists)
The top is approximately 18.4mm wide, tapering to 5.6mm. 
  
The total weight is 14.4g. 

UK hallmarked 9ct gold. Dated Chester 1907.
