Antique Edwardian Carved Turquoise 18ct Gold 5 Stone Ring in Very Good Original Condition.
This well made ring dates from the early Edwardian era, dated Chester 1908.
It is manufactured in 18ct gold and set with 5 graduated turquoise along the centre, the stones taper ring in size from the centre.
Stones are held securely in place by claws, and the shoulders of the ring have an attractive 'ribbed' design.
The turquoise are all original, no replacements, a remarkable survivor.
They are just not out there in this sort of condition anymore.
The use of turquoise within rings represent the colour of the “forget me not” flower so they were seen as tokens of love and admiration.
Principal turquoise measures 4.8mm in diameter. Smallest turquoise measures 3.5mm in diameter.
The settings are perfect, it can be worn daily making it the perfect engagement or anniversary/eternity ring.
Head of ring measures approx. 6.2mm (width) tapering to a 2.6mm shank.
Ring weighs 5.0g. This is a quality ring.
UK hallmarked 18ct gold. Dated Chester 1908. Sponsors mark 'S H Ltd'.
The ring size is currently R 1/2 (UK Scale) or 8 7/8 (US Size) but can be modified a couple of sizes free of charge in our own comprehensive workshops.
Overall, a very wearable antique ring.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age.
This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
The settings are perfect condition and can be worn every day (with respect). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
