Beautiful Quality Antique Edwardian Turquoise and Old European Cut Diamond Cluster Platinum Ring
This superbly made ring dates from the late Edwardian era, circa 1910.
Manufactured in platinum; there is a stunning large oval cabochon cut turquoise that displays a wonderful unblemished sky blue colour that is even throughout with no flaws; as well there are 12 large transitional cut diamonds arranged in a cluster around the principal stone.
The ring is particularly special from the underneath. It has a fine scrollwork design and is beautifully worked/hand crafted.
Turquoise is an excellent robins eggs blue colour. Whilst diamonds are white and sparkling.
The border of the gemstones is `millgrain set` (From the French word `mille` for a thousand, and from grain as the same meaning in English, it refers to what appears to be thousands of tiny beads upon a metal precipice or edge).
It really makes a statement on the finger; and it will be sent in its original box.
Under magnification it shows the hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied and you need to know the manufacturing process to appreciate their character fully.
Turquoise measures 12.5mm x 8.1mm and 5.2mm in depth. Carat weight of 4.00 carats
Diamonds measure approx. 3.7mm. Diamonds have a estimated carat weight of a 2.50 carats.
The diamonds are white and bright and well matched, unusually good for the period, appraised colour H/I, clarity VS/Si and are natural earth mined.
Far superior quality than most we see, the head of ring measures approx. 20.8mm x 16.0mm and 6.3mm in depth.
Shank measures 1.5mm in width.
Weight 5.1g. This is a quality ring.
Unmarked, tests platinum.
The ring size is currently M (UK Scale) or 6 (US Size) but can be modified free of charge in our own comprehensive workshops.
