Exceptionally Pretty Antique Georgian Ornate 9ct Gold Picture Locket. Much heavier and more elaborate than others I have seen.
(Please note the chain is NOT included)
A great quality antique picture locket manufactured in 15ct gold. Superb deep chasing into solid 15ct gold.
It has come to us with its original pretty miniature picture of 2 young girls, it would be a pity to remove it, but you could if you wished, maybe keep it safe to reunite in the future.
15ct gold was only a legal standard of gold in British jewellery between 1854 and 1931. This means that any piece of 15ct antique gold jewellery from Britain dates somewhere between 1854 and 1931 and you have a genuine piece of antique or vintage jewellery.
Measures 28.6mm x 28.6mm (not including bale) and 5.4mm in depth.
The beautifully chased pendant loop/bale measures 8.2mm in length.
Weight 11.6g.
Unmarked, tests 15ct gold.
Dates from the late Georgian period; circa 1830.
CONDITION: Overall excellent, with some very, very light wear commensurate with age.
This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
