Will take a good-sized locket/fob/pendant, or be worn on its own.

A very useful and wearable antique chain manufactured in 9ct gold, it is a great chain that has interesting almost industrial links that are strong and at the same time very decorative; it also has the original barrel clasp.
It makes a statement when worn on its own but can also be worn with a pendant or locket.

It's a rarity to have survived, under magnification it shows the handcrafting and hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast, having little `definition` left after the casting process and no character.

Shows little signs of wear, and is in good condition considering its age (it's 100-plus years old!), but it is still perfectly wearable.

The chain measures 17 inches in length. Equivalent to 43.1cm 
The links are 3.7mm in width. 

Weight 9.4g.

The chain has a '9C' tag soldered to a link next to the clasp. 
Dates from the late Victorian era, Circa 1890 - 1900.

CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age.

This is a pre-loved antique item, making it an excellent value for your money compared to a new equivalent. 
It has been gently cleaned in our workshop, but not machine polished, so retains its patina.
