Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Buckle Ring with Fine Floral Motif. An Example That Really Has Survived in Superb Condition With The Engraving/Chasing Still Super Crisp.
This lovely buckle ring is manufactured in 18ct gold. It dates from the late-Victorian era, assayed in Birmingham in 1892. It has a scrolled leaf engraving throughout. The engraving is still crisp, the buckle and applied straps are in excellent sharp condition.
It would have originally been given as a commitment ring as the literal meaning is “You are bound to me”. It signifies fidelity in love and loyalty in friendship, so what a wonderful ring to give to someone that you love.
The buckle end of the ring measures 8.8mm wide
The band itself is 6.7mm wide x 0.8mm deep

UK hallmarked 18ct gold. Dated Birmingham 1892.
The ring size is currently UK M1/2, US 6 1/4. These are not sizeable due to the motif surrounding the band.
