Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Ornate Floral Link Chain with Dog Clip Swivel.

Very useful and wearable antique chain is manufactured in 9ct gold, it has ornate articulated links with a very unusual pattern of flowers on four sides of each link, and it also has the original 'dog clip' swivel (the spring is strong).

Presented in good original condition, traces of the original gilding are still there between the links. It makes a statement when worn on its own but can also be worn with a pendant or locket or a lovely old seal/fob. 

It's a rarity to have survived, under magnification it shows the handcrafting and hand soldering; these miniature works of art need to be studied, and you need to know the manufacturing process to fully appreciate their character. A modern one would be cast, having little `definition` left after the casting process and no character.

The chain measures 36 inches in length. Equivalent to 91.4cm 
The links are 2.6mm in width. 

Weight 22.6g.

The chain has a '9c' tag soldered next to the swivel. Dates from the mid-Victorian era, circa 1870.

CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.

This is a pre-loved antique item, making it an excellent value for your money compared to a new equivalent. 
It has been ever so gently cleaned in our workshop. 
Shows little signs of wear, and it is in remarkable condition considering its age (it's 125 years old!), it is still perfectly wearable.
