Antique Victorian Natural Split Pearl & Enamel 15ct Gold Mourning Ring.
The ring is manufactured in 15ct gold. The ring has a natural split pearl set in a 'star setting' in the centre; with black enamel around the head of the ring, and an enamelled fleur-de-lis on the shoulders.
Mourning jewellery became popular after the Death Of Queen Victoria's husband Albert in 1861.
Pearl measures 3.7mm in diameter.
Head of ring measures approx. 7.5mm (width) tapering to a 2.4mm shank.
UK Hallmarked 15ct gold. Dated Birmingham 1873.
Weight 2.7g.
Dates from the early Victorian period.
The ring is currently size is J 1/2 (UK Scale) or 5 (US Size). Unfortunately, due to the enamelling around the shoulders we cannot resize this ring.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age, lightest of losses to a small amount of enamel on the fleur-de-lis on the shoulders.
This is an antique item, making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent.
The settings are perfect condition and can be worn every day (with care). It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
