Vintage Diamond and Ruby 18ct Yellow and White Gold Bird of Paradise Brooch
A lovely genuine piece of vintage cocktail jewellery dating from the 1940's.
The brooch is very well modelled in two tone 18ct gold to depict a bird of paradise; the wings, feathers and beak is manufactured in 18ct yellow gold whilst head and body is manufactured in 18ct white gold.
The birds body and head are also set with old European cut diamonds (22 in total), whilst its tail feathers are set with calibre cut rubies, and a round cut ruby in it’s eye.
The brooch is highly decorative, its wings ribbed for added definition and a ribbed design around the tail feathers.
The rubies are an excellent colour, all original and well matched.
The diamonds are clean and white and bright, this is a very well executed piece of jewellery.
The bird of paradise represents faithfulness, love, and thoughtfulness, making it the perfect romantic gift.
Round cut ruby measures 2.2mm in diameter.
