Outstanding Antique Sterling Silver and Enamel Nursery Rhyme Boxed Christening Set in Original Fitted Box, Manufactured by Elkington & Co.

The perfect antique christening gift.

Mint, no marks to the enamelling at all, still retain factory polished finish. I believe they have never been out of the box, the only fault is some `foxing` to the lining in the top of the box.

The christening set dates from the late Edwardian era and is manufactured in sterling silver. The end of each piece of cutlery is beautifully enamelled to depict the nursery rhyme characters 'Tom Tom the Piper's Son', 'The Pied Piper of Hamlin' and 'Little Miss Muffet'. The handles of each piece is set with an art deco 'ribbed' design.
The cutlery is manufactured using an excellent gauge of sterling silver and are fitted to the original Elkington & Co box; `By Appointment to the H.M the Late King George V'.

All are hallmarked silver.
UK hallmarked sterling silver. Dated Birmingham 1913. Sponsors mark 'E & C' for Elkington & Co.

Combined weight of 98.28g, or 3.15troy ounces

CONDITION: Excellent, with some age related staining to the box.
