Vintage 9ct Gold 'Sugar Loaf' Amethyst Ring. Circa 1960's

A very unique ring, unusually cut as a sugar loaf, rather than cabochon.

The stone is an oval 'sugar loaf' Amethyst, which is a domed cabochon that comes almost to a point rather than being uniformly curved.

This is set in a 9ct mount. The setting has a fine frill surrounding the stone, which is micro-engraved, rather Scandinavian in style.
