Vintage Diamond and Red Enamel 18ct Gold Gypsy Ring.
This lovely simple traditional ring has a modern brilliant diamond set in a 'star setting' in the centre; with red enamel around the head of the ring
Unusually, there is also a hand engraved spiral motif on the shoulders
This superbly made ring resembles those made during Victorian and Edwardian era.
The gypsy ring design has traditionally been considered very lucky and would traditionally been given as a token of love - the star setting literally means “You are the star in my life”, the diamond translates “for eternity”.
What a perfect ring to give to someone that you love.
Diamond measures 3.4mm in diameter.
Head of ring measures 7.7mm tapering to 3.4mm shank
Ring weighs 8.0g. This is a good weight example.
UK hallmarked 18ct gold. Dated London 1989. Sponsors mark 'A. J. F'.
The ring size is currently O 1/2 (UK Scale) or 7 1/4 (US Size)
