Vintage Madeira Citrine, Diamond and Pearl 18ct Gold Floral Necklace Manufactured by Cropp and Farr
Truly stunning on the neck, so colourful, you will be the Belle of the Ball!
This lovely quality, well-made necklace is made by the well known firm Cropp & Farr.
Cropp & Farr Limited was incorporated on 28 Feb 1938 and was located in London. Sadly it is no longer trading. The company made very good quality jewellery and this necklace is no exception.
It is manufactured in two-tone 18ct gold; the diamond set leaves are crafted in 18ct white gold, and the remainder is made using 18ct yellow gold - a true sign of quality and the proper way to manufacture a necklace.
It is set with a Madeira citrine in the centre with 7 pearls positioned below the centre stone, as well there are 2 diamond set leaves positioned above the citrine.
The necklace has another 4 round citrines, 2 pearls and 4 diamond set leaves positioned above.
Additionally, and has an articulated large round citrine attached below the pearls.
The necklace has a total of 6 Madeira citrines, 9 pearls and a total of 8 modern brilliant cut diamonds; the gemstones are all claw set.
The necklace has a rope chain attached, as well there are 4 leaves which are evenly spaced out throughout the necklace. Each leaf has chased/engraved detail for added definition.
A highly useful article of vintage jewellery; showing little wear, the facets still visible.
This collar sits beautifully on the neck as it is hinged/articulated into sections - not rigid on the neck.
The principal citrine measures 5.3mm in diameter.
The citrine at the drop measures 12.9mm in diameter and has a carat weight of approx. 6.59 carats.
The outer citrines measure 9.1mm in diameter.
Citrines have a combined carat weight of approx. 16.05 carats.
Diamonds measure 1.5mm in diameter.
Pearls measure approx. 2.8mm in diameter.
The chain measures 17 inches in length. Equivalent to 43.1cm and weighs 22.6g.
Chain links are 1.8mm in diameter.
UK hallmarked 18ct gold. Dated Birmingham 1964. Sponsors mark 'C & F' for Cropp & Farr.
