Vintage Ove Wendt for Andreas Mikkelsen Denmark Modernist Sterling Silver Cuff Bangle

This highly wearable modernist cuff bangle which is fully hallmarked by Denmark designer and silversmith, Ove Wendt and retailed by Andreas Mikkelsen, it is beautifully made and of lovely quality. 

It dates from the 1970s and is manufactured in sterling silver and features a slightly concave centre and a lovely gloss finish; a collectable and very wearable piece of Scandinavian design.

Ove Wendt trained as a silversmith, he had his own workshop until 1959. He worked with Andreas Mikkelsen from 1970-1978, he designed jewellery for Georg Jensen after 1978.

In 1955  Andreas Mikkelsen started working as a salesman for Georg Jensen and in 1963 he was promoted to sales manager. He quickly progressed at the silversmiths and in 1970 established his own design company A/M Design where he designed his own jewellery for eight years before returning to Georg Jensen. In 1978 he returned to Georg Jensen and when Georg Jensen merged with Holmegaard Glassworks in 1983 Mikkelsen became the company's artistic director.
In 1990 Mikkelsen moved to London to design watches and jewellery for both his own brand A/M Design and for Georg Jensen.

Internal dimensions - measures approx. 59.6m x 51.6mm. 
The bangle measures approx. 11.8mm in width and 3.5mm in depth. 
The total weight is 27.1g. 

Stamped 'Denmark 925s'. Makers mark 'A. Mik' for Andreas Mikkelsen and 'Design OW' for Ove Wendt.  

Looks fabulous on the wrist when worn.

CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very very light wear commensurate with age.

This is a vintage item making it excellent value for your money when compared to a new equivalent. 
The links are in good condition and can be worn every day. It has been professionally cleaned in our workshop.
