Outstanding Pair of Vintage Elizabeth II Silver-Gilt Candelabra. Will look magnificent on the Christmas table.
A magnificent pair of silver-gilt candelabra in mid-18th century rococo taste, both are profusely decorated around the base whilst the top has flower decorations with double scrolled branches and detachable sconces and leaf cast drip pans standing to the centre of each candelabra. Both candelabras are handed (a sign of quality) and the centre of each depicts a child in 18th century dress. They are of very fine quality and heavy weight.
Both the sconce and the base are hallmarked.
Measures approx. 283.0mm in height, the branches spread approx. 27.6mm; and the base measures and 120.8mm in depth.
UK hallmarked sterling silver. Dated London 1965. Sponsors mark 'C J V Ld' for C J Vander Limited.
Weighs is a quality 2448g, that's 78.7 troy ounces!!
CONDITION: Very Good, the gilding has slightly worn in areas.
They have been ever so gently cleaned in our workshop by hand, not machine polished, so retain its patina.
